Energy Audit

At Reipower, we conduct comprehensive energy audits to help organizations understand how energy is being used within their facilities and identify practical opportunities to reduce energy consumption, operating costs, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Our energy audit process begins with an in-depth analysis of your facility’s energy usage, including utility bill analysis, building automation system trends, and operating schedules. This is followed by a detailed on-site walkthrough supported by field measurements, data logging, and interviews with facility operators and maintenance staff. We also benchmark your building against industry best practices to evaluate overall energy performance.

The goal of the audit is to identify both capital and operational energy-saving opportunities:

  • Capital Measures involve equipment upgrades or system replacements that typically require investment, such as high-efficiency HVAC systems, lighting retrofits, or control system upgrades.
  • Operational Measures focus on low-cost or no-cost improvements, including scheduling optimization, control adjustments, maintenance improvements, and operational best practices.

Depending on the facility and project scope, our energy audits may include:

  • Utility bill and energy consumption analysis
  • Facility walkthrough inspections
  • Building automation system (BAS) trend analysis
  • Equipment performance assessment
  • Interviews with facility operators and maintenance personnel
  • Installation of temporary data loggers to identify energy waste and operational inefficiencies
  • Benchmarking against similar facilities and industry standards

Following the assessment, Reipower provides a detailed energy audit report outlining our findings and recommendations. The report typically includes:

  • Energy audit methodology
  • Facility description and operating profile
  • Utility and energy consumption analysis
  • Recommended energy conservation measures
  • Estimated energy, cost, and GHG savings
  • Simple payback analysis for each measure
  • Available utility incentives and government grants

ASHRAE Energy Audit Levels

Energy audits are generally categorized based on the level of detail and analysis involved:

ASHRAE Level 1 – Walkthrough Audit:

A preliminary assessment designed to identify major energy-saving opportunities and provide an overview of energy performance.

ASHRAE Level 2 – Detailed Energy Audit:

Includes a more comprehensive analysis of energy conservation measures, along with estimated implementation costs, savings, and payback calculations.

ASHRAE Level 3 – Investment Grade Audit:

An in-depth engineering analysis typically used for major capital investment decisions and energy performance projects.

Reipower has successfully completed ASHRAE Level 1 and Level 2 energy audits for a wide range of commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities, including:

  • Office Buildings
  • Multi-Residential Buildings
  • Shopping Malls
  • Arenas and Recreational Facilities
  • Municipal Buildings
  • Hotels
  • Coffee Processing Facilities
  • Plastic Extrusion Plants
  • Industrial Manufacturing Facilities
